Anthropic is arranging for employees to sell shares at a valuation of at least three hundred and fifty billion dollars, making it one of the world's most valuable private companies. The tender offer comes alongside a massive funding round expected to exceed twenty billion dollars, with Microsoft and Nvidia among the key investors.

Anthropic Reaches Staggering Valuation Milestone

Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company behind the Claude AI assistant, is setting up a tender offer that would allow employees to sell shares at a valuation of at least three hundred and fifty billion dollars. The deal would give staff at one of the fastest-growing AI startups an opportunity to cash out equity without waiting for an initial public offering.

The three hundred and fifty billion dollar figure represents a pre-money valuation and matches the terms being discussed in the company's ongoing fundraising round, which is expected to bring in more than twenty billion dollars in total.

A Meteoric Rise

The valuation marks a remarkable trajectory for a company founded in twenty twenty-one by former OpenAI executives, including chief executive Dario Amodei. Anthropic's valuation has surged from roughly sixty-one and a half billion dollars in March twenty twenty-five to one hundred and eighty-three billion by September, and now to three hundred and fifty billion.

The company closed its latest funding round above an initial ten billion dollar target in late January, with Coatue Management and Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC leading the financing. Microsoft has pledged up to five billion dollars and Nvidia up to ten billion, with Anthropic committing to purchase thirty billion dollars of Nvidia-powered Microsoft Azure compute capacity in return.

Revenue Explosion Fuels Investor Confidence

Anthropic's growth has been powered by rapid enterprise adoption of its Claude models and the success of Claude Code, its AI coding tool. The company reported nearly ten billion dollars in revenue last year, up from approximately one billion at the start of twenty twenty-five. Internal projections suggest revenue could reach eighteen to twenty-six billion dollars by the end of twenty twenty-six.

IPO on the Horizon

The tender offer arrives as Anthropic prepares for a potential initial public offering, having engaged law firm Wilson Sonsini for IPO-related preparations. Betting markets currently give Anthropic a seventy-two percent chance of going public before rival OpenAI, which reached a five hundred billion dollar valuation following its own employee share sale in October twenty twenty-five.
